| I was born near London in 1945, although I have lived in the North of England for a very long time. Nowadays I spend as much time as possible in the Czech Republic. I don't aim to produce an art of instant gratification. I work quietly and slowly. Give it time and it might grow to like you! The Austrian writer Robert Musil has always been a major influence, and love of music is central to me, 20th century music theory having a great affect on my painting. However I am happy to know I could rebuild the engine of my Tatra, or cook a good dinner! (continue) |
